Does anybody out there have a name that they call thier car by?

I call my Topcat Elenor like in the movie Gone in 60 Seconds. Not cuz she's that fast she is just that rare.

Used to call my first car Squirrel(hence where I get the nickname from). I just call my truck "deathtrap" now. Found out last wednesday that 400 hp don't mean chit when you have NO BRAKES!!!!

Haven't named it. I generally refer to it as TA, TransAm, GTA, firechicken..etc.. Any of the normal Firebird nick names.

Exploder, 4.0 short block. 400 is an estimate as I have not had it on a dino yet. But has aftermarket head, cam, pistons, rod, crank, exhaust, intake. Will be an off-roadf toy as soon as I can find a lift kit for it. Once I can get the brakes fixed and actually put it on a dino I will post up the results for you. lol

:bustingup You're a funny guy!! I am going to go out on a limb and say to hit 400 you would have to spray the hell out of it ONCE and hope it held together on the DYNO. Hahaha.....

That would be like me saying I am putting 250 to the ground right now with just a chip and intake......

You believe what you want. I know the work done to it, and I know who it was done by, so I not doubting his estimate. Like I said I have never had it on a dyno and I have only driven it about 5 times(got work out some legal issues with it) but the thing is a beast, dry pavement I can spin all 4 tires, wet pavement I'm using 3rd gear to even start. Dan over the summer when you get back up here I'll bring it out to the track and we can drag on some country road. I'll put it up against Roccos stang to. Also Dan this isn't the Blue explorer I drove to the track. By then the miss fire should be figured out and the brakes fixed.

Why is 400hp outta a V6 so hard to imagine anyways?

I am not going to drag anything with a built motor when I am completely stock with the exception of a little tuning. I will not believe 400 HP out of that motor with those mods until I see a Dyno sheet. 400 HP is a lot of power..... if it does in fact have that I would be shocked, amazed, and then shake your hand.

Squrrel, after your discussion about how a 50hp engine in a car could reach the same terminal top speed as a 500hp engine in said car your judgement is suspect.

Who ported the heads? What was done to them? What is the cam profile, centerline, LSA, lift, duration...(or is it too secret to post). What intake is it? Custom sheet metal? If not, what aftermarket intake? or is it a ported stocker.

the 4.0 Ford V6 isn't known for power. It does not have as large of a aftermarket as say a ford 5.0 V8, or a chevy sb.

I say BS on the 400hp if its n/a and not sprayed. Lets see either a dyno, or a time slip showing the ET and Trap Speed.

First of all KMA on the judgement ok. A.S.E. say I know what I'm talking about.

Second, I can honestly tell you(I know I'm gonna catch shit for this) but I have NO clue what has been done or by who. I bought the truck exactly how it sits. Like I said as soon as I can fix some problems with it I will get it on a dyno and get it to the track. If it does not have what I said(which is what I was told I will be the first to say.)

List of whats wrong as of right now,
1: miss fire
2: needs new exhaust, headers are fine but after that it dumps to the passenger side door giving no back pressure, therefore no scavenging.
3: No turn signals, wiring harness problem
4: plates suspended for no emissions compliance(Just haven't gone to take the test)
5:NO BRAKES
6:New clutch: fried this one pulling my brothers car off of a tow dolley.

Once I fix those 6 things I will put it on a dyno. And like I said if I come up with 300 or less I will bow down and say I was wrong, but as of right now I am going by what I was told.
