My buddy mentioned it to me. I believe its up north. Take Nerge west til it ends and there is a bmx track in the woods. Anyone hear of this? I'll have to find out more.

Nerge west.. that ends around roselle road and becomes a neighborhood. There used to be some BMX jumps there that were visible from the elgin Ohare but the residents of that neighborhood leveled them and put up no tresspassing signs a couple years ago. I've not checked that out since then. I can cruise by there tomorow and see if there is anyhitng else buit up.

Welcome back Six... We were a little worried. Last time we had heard from you was around the time your Uncle was having med problems. Glad to hear that wasn't the cause of your absence.

looks like a track to me!
We have to all meet there one time and see if we should claim it as our new bash spot.
Looks like we can make a little track out of what's already there. Kinda like Berwyn but bigger

From the looks of it, you'd have to get over the chain link fence then drive through alot of very tall grass, then over the retaining wall before you got on the highway.

Yeah your'e right, the chainlink fence keeps you from getting out onto the grass to go up to the expressway, and that retaining wall is like 12' tall.
You access it off of Roselle Rd. and Nerge. At that intersection take Nerge west (it's actually Pratt Blvd.) and follow it down untill just before it makes a hard right (1/4 mile maybe). There are three or four trails leading in(only about 10-15ft. of the road) I was standing just inside the second to last trail when I took those pics.

cruised by there today. That is the same spot that a couple years ago was leveled and no tresspassing signs put up. It used to be 5x the size of whats there now. cool part is those jumps are 5 mins from my house and drive one more exit farther west down the elgin ohare and you would be at the BISCO lot I run the landmax at on the weekends.

Hi all,
I just found this site today, nice to see folks so close to home (The Trails, SW of Plum Grove & Nerge)
I make lap counters for R/C racing and would like to test some new stuff and grab some video, especially off-road, next time you guys are out bashing off Pratt or at Bisco if that's OK.

Unfortunately, my only current R/C rides are some 18th scale BRP cars and an old RC10L bare chassis with 3 wheels
When some more dough comes my way, I need to get something better.
What's most popular around the Roselle/Schaumburg area? I'd like to get in on some informal competition.

I've been into RC since I was a kid, mostly planes though. My first car was a Tamiya Lambo kit with a hard plastic body, 5 cell battery, 05 motor and an MRC 2 stick radio. Pistol grips weren't out yet. A bunch of Grasshoppers followed this. The missing link has always been someone to race with, zipping up and down the street looses its luster after a while.
Obsessive, you may have seen one of my e-planes behind that school on the corner.
I built the first counter for one of those portable nascar tracks and it just grew from there.
After chatting with a few clubs about the system, I'm starting to itch for some racing myself.

That's cool, the school is right down the street from me, I took my RS4 up there to break it in.
Grasshoppers, Hornets, RC10's and Ultimas...that brings me back (crap I'm getting old)

Welcome Craig. Like Tex said, you are now one of us... Next time we organize a Bash, which should be SOON... you should get together with obsessive, and carpool out. Even if you don't have anything of your own to run, it will give you a chance to meet everyone.
