My CT-5 should be here today! I'm thinking I'll drop the picco in it. We shoujld have some nice races! I really want one of the inferno gt's. I would beef up the sus[ension a little and put some buggy wheels/tires on it for a little rally action. Cuz I know you cant resist a good jump! What are you gonna drop in it? Dont tell me 528RX!

Yeah no kiddin! It's like 110 for the ason marton body painted. But it looks soooo good. They have one at Als. The detail is really very good. Even though most of it is stickers. Big though.

Actually if you are free during the summer there is a huge Kmart parking lot we go to a friday nights. We could do it on a weekend or something, but the parking lot is about 750ft long, and about 500ft wide. Fresh, smooth tarmac! Perfect for on-roads.
Its at Rt 83, and St Charles rd. If you type it into Google Earth brings you right to the parking lot. Its in Elmhurst IL, just under a mile south of Rt 83 and North ave.

What upgrades are must haves for this? Or is it okay minus the stock servo/radio/engine? I've got a Hitech 645 for steering, Z590 for T/B, a Spektrum Rx, and I have my choices of a Picco 27 Outlaw, or a Team Infinity .27 3port for power. Both of which are good and plenty more power than the GX28.

Definately get chassis braces for it if it doesn't already have them. I think it was Chris that broke a crankshaft on his because of that?

I had hoped the stock chassis braces were good enough. Its a RTR (wish they made a pro kit or something like that). In any case I'm not even going to run it till I pull the stock engine and stock electronics out and replace them with my better stuff.
So I should order CNC chassis braces for it hm? Have to check on A-main and hope they carry them.

I would. The stock ones aren't even captured if I remember correctly, so they could pop off in a situation where you need the chassis to remain rigid.

no, chris bent his chassis by hitting a parking block at full speed.
the con rod snapped after break-in. they replaced it and now the motor sits on a shelf.
the parking lot sounds good! well have to try and set up a night at lh again. last year brian, chris and me had alot of fun!

You will need the wing mount piece to mount a rear brace made for a buggy on a GT.
you can see the piece in this pic on my old Landmax 2
http://home.comcast.net/~exsells/lmaxx_67.jpg
and on my GT..

I bought the Al one but the plastic version is available too but you have to buy like a $7 parts bag to get it and the aluminum one was $10 on ebay.
Here is the GT forum for ya ThirdGen
http://infernogt.proboards102.com/index.cgi
Other things I'd do when you get it.. replace the steering link that connects the servo to the bellcranks with a real link intead of a Z bent wire. Also the brake fades bad if you are hard on them. Mine used to be heat glazed it was soo bad so upgrading to a better brake rotor or running multiple brakes rotors is a good idea. Other than that I don't know how good a stock GT is because I never Ran Mine in stock form

John, found these on A-main, http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_info...ts_id/2066
Does the 7.5 based stuff use a 2pc motor mount like the HB LSP, or do those mounts bolt directly into the chassis?

Nothing out there to stiffen the area around the motor that I know of. Never heard anyone complain about them being weak though. Better option would be to buy a K2 or the K3 (same as the K2 but milled so its lighter) but None of the Kanai Chassis will work with the 2 speed on the GT unless you drill and cut the chassis.

I just saw this thread... The IGT does have a rear chassis support, but there is no front support. I had an ofna one laying around, so I added that. With the ofna brace, I had to do a little manipulating, but got it to fit. Haven't had a problem since...
Actually, I shot the IGT out of a concrete bowl skatepark, probably 10-15 ft in the air. Landed solid, and kept going....
