I think we should have a designated thread were we can plan, schedule and set up meets locally and even get a little competition going on here. I know that some of us get together to do some bashin in berwyn, some in elgin an others elsewhere. What about getting something a little bit more rolling between all of us?
Just a thought.....................................

We are meeting in Berwyn Saturday at 10-11am for a bash session... weather says partly sunny and 75, nice

I know alot of people don't have on-roads but I think we should find a track or something similar to have an on-road gathering. Hopfuly more people will get on-roads so we have a variety of rc events.

the parking lot at berwyn is huge so we could section off with some cones and have on road races that way. I love the versatility of the maxx to do on and off road racing.

I would like to get together and hit a construction site, and it appears that berwyn offers the best of both worlds right now. Like it was stated before, you have to give a lot of credit for the: beer, brats, BS and bashing factor. I know I have only been there once and for a short time, but I can go with that spot until someone else has a better meeting ground even though its kinda far for me, it'll be worth it. Elgin sounds cool but its occupied by BMX'ers and they might get PO'd if we over take a portion of the track for racing. Anyone here have a few acres of land that they don't mind renovating into a wicked race circuit??????????lol

yeah berwyn is a haul for me too but Nobody cares what we do there. Weather its racing up and down the lot, BBQ, Drinking beer, BS, or at the Jumps in the woods. there is no way you could get away with that at say, Busse woods or the BMX track in elgin. Berwyn's parking lot is just long not really wide enough to do anyhitng but go down a ways then come back. the parking lot I run my cras in I set up a decent course to drive around using existing stuff and some old wheels as corner dots.
I do know of a place that has a few acres of land that has a track already on it thats lit up at night too! but thats in STL for the camp maxx events.
the only on road I have is an 1/8 scale Landmax 2 rally. I've had 1/10 TC's a pebble sends them flying too easliy on ungroomed parking lots. If enough people do actually race or at least start headin up to Tracks like RSJ or AJ's.. I'd buy a 1/10 on road again.

construction spot: Weber and I55 go south about 1 mile to KFC/A&W restraunt... look directly behind it and you'll see the dirt mounds... I've been there once so far and had a blast
Motocross track: I55 and Joliet RD go south about 1/2 mile...when you see the first industrial park on your right pull down the street and you'll see the trails on your right (in a huge field)
Woodridge Jumps: from I355 and 75th st go west on 75th to Woodridge dr...go north on Woodridge dr. to 71st st.... go left on 71st and park right away... walk east across woodridge dr. into the woods (you will see a small trail leading into the woods) you should start seeing jumps as soon as you enter the trees
Berwyn Jumps: I55 and Harlem go north to 40th st. (neiborhood st. borders Jack Phelan Chevrolet) go left (west) on 40th to the first forest preserve entrance on your left...pull in the lot and drive all the way back... in the very back of the parking lot you will see a cul-de-sac... walk through the center of the cul-de-sac and you will see a trail leading into the woods... follow that trail and you can't miss the jumps....
Hope this helps

Tex, thanks a lot! Is the Woodridge jumps a BMX track? I thought I heard there was a BMX track in Woodridge. I can even go over there at lunch time since I work in Downers Grove.

I'm going to try and make it for the bash session. The truck is broken right now and I'm waiting for parts that I ordered. If I can get it fixed by friday night, I'll be in berwyn for some bashing on saturday.
How many people usually show up?

I'll be there at 10, just have to mod up my cage to support the extra height of the .21 and still be strong. It looks kinda makeshift now because I do not have anymore material to cut new rails for it and the retro was done in a short period to protect the new motor. I'll only be able to stay for a couple hours again unless the kids GP's stand up and help out.

no we used to go last year a whole bunch... we haven't been there this year I'm going Saturday July 31st though...
There is BMXers there sometimes not all the time... It's not an official track either just a bunch of stuff the kids built in the woods
