i cant keep it idleing it just dies im not sure what the problem is it was running good then whenever i hit the breaks or slow down to a stop it would die. oh well time for a new engine any ideas its for a 1/10 truck

Check your clutch and clutch bell bearings. If they hang up, it's just like snubbing the flywheel to a stop.

Also check your idle. It might be too low.

ill look into that
im going to tear the truck apart tommarow. i took it apart last night and rebuilt it and i went to test ti and the problems happend

maybe the engine isnt sealed correctly could that be a problem also

Make sure everything is tight on the engine. Tighten down the head bolts in start pattern so they all get tightened evenly. Check the back plate and carb sinch bolt.

If you rebuilt it, then that means that you just need to put the trim for your throttle servo so it won't move the carb when you hit the brakes, then you will need to turn your idle up on the carb.

thanks guys i got everything freed up and now it runs decent i need to figure out why it runs so hot im in the 240-270 range and when i richen it up it still is hot

Do you have a vent hole cut in the body? Geared to low?

240-270 is ok
What king of crank shaft does your truck run? threaded crank (little stubby) or a longer pilot (SG) shaft?

its the standard shaft its not the cut standard its the long threaded. but not the sg.
