Revo Center Diff / Tire Balooning
#1
I just upgraded to 300k Center Diff in my Revo from 100 to help dampen tire balooning. It's better...but it still does it.

My Foams are SHOT probably just by feeling the tires could that have an impact on that too or is it unrelated?

(I probably know the answer to the question I just don't wanna try and get all the tires off the rims to replace the foams)

what do you mean just by feeling the tires?

czech, they are quite squishy the foams are shot. I was wondering if the lack of firmness anywhere in the tire could cause ballooning. I think I was allergic to puncuation there...

I was thinking of going up to 500k. Im still running the short Chassis, would a long Chassis help that issue too?

300k is god awful, I just kind of scoop it and pack it in with my fingers. I don't really wanna know what 500k is like. Lol

You have to remember....That kind of IS the purpose of a center diff-to diffuse an amount of the power to the wheels lacking traction... If you do not want any ballooning difference between front and rear, go back to the transmission.

the longer chassis would increase traction to the front tires, which should stop them from balloning.

and even with the 3.3 chassis you would need to go up to 500K. anything below that is about useless.

I'll try 500k next...I'd rather not have to spend 100 bucks to upgrade to the longer chassis if I don't have to. I like my turning radius with the short one.

Well the tire ballooning is rather excessive, I think...Im not sure i havnt had it on the track. Just the road...we'll see. I think I ought to replace the foams if i can save the tires.

Also...another question. is the 23mm velocity 1/2" offset rims more durable against bending than the standard ones? Cause if I carthweel it just right it bends the hub so its way out of wack. Just curious...

dont cart wheel lol

the foams have nothing to do with ballooning if anything its going to cause less ballooning because there is less rotating mass forced against the ruber with a broken down foam. the foam broke down because its not stuck to the rim so it balloons aswell. try 500k and it should help but u will prolly get more rear wheel spin

I'll go run it at the track and see what it does.

You could always strap the tires too.

I think I'll just see what it does before I do anything drastic. I so hate getting tires off of rims.
