A rule of thumb I learned when I owned the oil-leak monster. It never burned oil. but it leaked a quart and a half a week before I got it fixed. I checked the oil every morning, and every time I got gas. It's not a bad habit to get into.
LSP lots of Khz, Werks .28 8 port.

Damn..... its a good thing we have edit buttons to cover your lying ass. Don't act like an idiot and then look to everyone for help and sympathy. One day you will realize that you can't lie your way through life.

Hey guys...When I was trying to go up a hill w/ the scion, it was pouring and the tires broke loose. Well I was trying to get into traffic and there was a car coming quick so I kept on it so I wouldn't get a holed...
Is it going to horribly effect the motor if that happens every once in a while? I know it's not good to do but if it's like get hit or pin it...

Nah.... every once and a while is not big deal really, especially if you keep up with oil changes. Many people will say that a car that is driven aggressively but properly maintained will be better in the long run than one that is babied its whole life. Take care of it and a little lead footing every now and then will do no harm.

Wow, you only hit 5k with a 6k redline. Even at 5k that means each piston was moving up and down 21 times a second. In a $13000 car. thats gonna cause some problems!!!!!!!

I've had mine for 6 years with quite a few tickets and you know what I have YET to blow up a motor! Tells you something huh!

hey dont knock the 13k dollar car i own 3 of them (wow thats sad) but i beat on my car every now and then it has ran some mid 14 second passes in the quarter. but the 2.4 isnt a stron motor once it gets aver 50k its basicly a ticking time bomb. i know because i own one and the motor on that one let go twice. and i dont beat on that car because i know its a piece

Heh...I drive my cars aggressivly. My first car...I put 100 thousond miles on it, changed the oil every 3k miles. I beat on the thing, I hit 4000 RPM every acceleration. And it still ran like a champ, had power, and got 29 mpg, at 200,000 on the odoooooooo. Engines are made to work.

ponch like dan said thats fine. Its actually a good thing to get on it hard every once in awhile, especially if u dont do any highway driving and just city stuff. Helps clear out the sh!t in ur cadalitic and all that

She's getting a NEW civic Si coupe or a Scion TC, next week.
We have decided not to sell the cavalier cause it aint worth much the doors are all dinged up, interior is shot, needs front end work, tires are almost gone.
so she said i could part it out.

Shit, every car I've ever owned has seen redline daily, or multiple times daily!

93' Escort, 160,000 miles. Still gets 35mpg, once needed a radiator because of pinhole leak by a rock chip. Other than that just usuals.

99' Kia Sephia 120,000miles, redlines daily, nearly every onramp. never really needed anything except an air bellows because it dry rotted and cracked causing a SES light.

All running amsoil or mobil1 synthetic changed every 6000 miles.
