this is my ultimate cool toy...
and it's twin... the yellow one...
I originally picked up the yellow and black one used, it was built for a guy in Rockford, I bought it shot it a few times, it was so accurate I had to have one built just for me, lol... both are Volquartsen rifles built into McMillan Custom Fiberglass stocks, with Tony Kidd two stage triggers.. both are glass bedded to reduce vibrations and all the good stuff has been done.
I started the blue rifle project on January 1st, and bit by bit put it together, a lot was time consuming just because this one was custom for me, arm measurments, fingers, all kinds of stupid stuff.. but eventually it was all sent off to have the rifle built and the rifle was finally sent to me on October 13th as the beauty that it is.. everything from the word go was per my specs.. 6 oz, two stage trigger, 50x scope, barrell, stock, etc... the first time out, I shot 20 rounds into a hole the size of a pencil eraser, it's only got better since then... lol
I have some other cool ones, but these are the ultimate cool ones.. the yellow/black one is a .22 magnum, and the blue/white is a .22.. both are killer accurate at up to 100 yds.. .

Jack,
thanks Jack!
I was going to build it myself, I've done several, but this one posed a problem, I wanted the most accuracy possible. I had the reciever I wanted, but needed to index a threaded barrel (for accuracy) and didn't have the machine shop. I then looked at other avenues, and finally began by calling McMillan. They was a four month wait for their stock, which gave me time to think the rest through. When I recieved that, I called Scott at Volquartsen, told him what I wnated, and although he makes a good firearm, I also explained that I wanted the Tony Kidd trigger, Scott was very cool about the whole thing, his response was, "buy the entire rifle, send me your stock, I'll put it all together for you and glass bed it", with that I sent him my stock and the Kidd trigger, he built everything for me and sent me emails the whole time keeping me up to date.. finally he shipped it out to me. This was just a very cool experience at every level.
here's a couple I built, the top one is fiberglass stock, carbon fiber sleeved barrel, I tweaked the triggers on them all to break at a couple of pounds instead of 10lbs.. the second one is the "purple paper eater", for the hell of it, I built the rifle, then the stock. When I finished the stock I thought it would be cool to have the rifle powder coated.
six - I thought about paintball guns for a while, but decided for the money I could buy a real firearm, and besides that paintball isn't real accurate, I like the idea of putting 10 bullets into one hole at 100 yards.. I do keep paintballs in my bag, set them up at 100 yrds on golf tees and shoot them, it's pretty fun, lol...

only the bottom one is painted, I used the duplicolor prism stuff on that, the top the color is molded into the fiberglass, you pick the colors and percentages when you order, each one is one of a kind obviously, and the middle one is a laminate stock..

oh yeah man.. guns can be pretty... I guess I go in moods, paint is cool, so is the glass... but I think I always like laminate stocks better...

thanks guys... I haven't even tapped into the coolness of the guitar collection, lmao.. the corner or my guitar room, (l to r) Ibanez Custom Shop USRG, Eddie Van Halen Wolfgang, Phil Collen (the guy from Def Leppard not Genesis) PC Jackson from their custom shop...
Frosty, if you want to get together sometime let me know.. it's good with me, I love to shoot and don't mind sharing what I have (you provide the bullets that you shoot and be safe is all I ask).
that blue rifle without the scope weighs in at about as much as my S&W .45 pistol, very light, and comfortable.. and just amazingly accurate, even with me behind the trigger..

lmao....
I worked with a girl one time that was just in love with Jimmie freakin' Johnson, I was in the mood to use Jimmie Johnson as a target so I would go shoot pics of him on the weekend, and drop them off on her desk on monday mornings.. I'd just shoot the eyes and nose out, shit like that, lmao... she fuckin' hated me for a long time...
and yeah, if you guys want to get together and shoot, we can do that.. we could all meet at Buffalo Rock or something if there's a lot of people.. depending on my mood depends on what I'll bring, lol
for the cost of that top paintball gun, you can buy a basic AR-15, if you ever need it, good for survival, self defense, whatever, and fun to shoot.. that's where the paintball fell short for me, I was looking at equal money and the AR is just sooooooo much more fun.. lol

yeah, an AR-15, nice rifle, falls under the "assualt" rifle category.. they are very good out of the box, but with modifications can be very accurate to probably 250 yards, they work good for small game or whatever.
yeah, Buffalo Rock in Ottawa, I've road mx out there before, never went to the range, but if it's too many people for my mother's back yard (she may get pissed and if she does, she's a very good shot, lmao) we may need to do something bigger.. I belong to a gun club, but it's pretty private and wouldn't appreciate a total invasion of the place.. besides, we do matches on weekends.
