if you slap new, nice paint on those things none of the other parts of the car will match. Can't have fresh paint and leave everything else looking like chit.
Once you upgrade something like paint you might as well redo the entire car. I think these guys keep their hobby somewhat "cheap" by leaving the cars like that. They still get to have hot rods but it doesn't cost them $100,000

If I stuck a loud exhaust on my Dad's or Sister's XJ's and/or did someuing to make our long dead FS van run again, would those be allowed? They're nearly as patinaed and it's all well earned too!

Sorry Bjoe only 1965 and earlier cars/trucks. They got their own set of standards for what they let into the show and not. Greasers and stuff like that!
