Bernie, I'm on vacation next starting Saturday. Let me know what day, or when you could use a hand on that little project.

Can I come and check it out too?
Maybe I'll bring the LSP, run a couple laps and give some feedback, if its ok with you Bernie?

Like I said before the track is loose. needs water but you can come.

Sounds like perfect track conditions for Panther Meatgrinders. Just heard from my buddy up in Grayslake, I just we'll be helping move blocks for the pit lane also...

Thanks guy. I see what I need to do. a few more jumps maybe. Like I said the track was loose, real loose. I timed a few laps. 59 to 110 seconds per lap. when race ready I think 45 to 50 second laps.

Thanks for having us out Bernie, the place is looking good and I cant wait to see it all done!
The track was loose thats for sure, but it was already getting some groves in a couple of the turns and I was actually starting to get some traction. Some more jumps would be cool, I found myself looking forward to getting back around the track to hit the jumps again I have no doubt that it will be top notch when your all done with it though

Yeah, thanks again Bernie. This is really shaping up to be one truly amazing facility. I agree with a few more jumps. An off throttle jump before the step up jump would be cool.
I almost wonder if it's feasible to put a table top and then a double on the back straight like the Dirt Dawgs track. Maybe it was just how loose the track is at this point, or maybe it was the distance, but I couldn't get going fast back there. So a couple jumps would maybe be a good idea. Just thinking out loud. I'm sure you'll come up with something cool. Thanks again.

I think the track was awesome the way it was. After talking with you Bernie about the back strait and how you can't see very well, I went up and ran a tank. I was focusing my thought about what we were talking about while I was running the back strait. It really is very viewable up on the drivers stand and not that hard to judge at all.
I vote for a jump on the back strait also (motoX style, big air with a landing jump.lol). I like how the infield is with elevation changes and sweeping turns, I'm not for too many jumps added in there if any at all.

Thanks guys. I do want to put in a few more jumps. I brain stormed a few jumps that you will like. but I don't want to put any jumps in the back straight. its a long way down if you jumped off the back. and the way Bruce drives he would be the first one to go over :wavey:

lol.....
I was thinking the same thing after I was picturing a big jump on the back strait. People flying off the track and the need for a few marshalls down there.

Bernie, I thought there's going to be a fence on that back straight for me to bounce off!!! That could be my signature move! LOL!!!!

Any date yet on when the track will be open? I would like to take some time during the week and practice.
09-12-2005, 09:39 PM
Date? Well, I must say again that I appreciate Bernie's hard work and enthusiasm for this project. It's a major undertaking.
The timeline of such a project should not be looked by critically by those with a lesser understanding of all of the facets involved. These things definately take time to be done properly. And things ARE being done properly. That stated, based on what I've seen and my experience as a project manager for several major general contractors I'd say this place will probably open around the first week of November. I hope that Bernie can light a fire under all of the subs and get the inspectors out early to approve it so they can get their occupancy permit. If everything passes inspection then I think my timeline is accurate. I sure hope so! I want to race this masterpiece!!!!

I'm not critically looking at anything, and I do have a very good understanding of how GC's work. I was just wondering if it was getting any closer, or if there has been a date set for opening day. I know a few weeks ago, some people were out there running some laps.
09-12-2005, 10:50 PM
They were not supossed to be out there. Just hold on for a little while longer and evrybody can come.
09-13-2005, 12:20 AM
Actually they were invited by Bernie to try out the track, I couldn't go because I had other plans.
09-13-2005, 12:37 AM
We were invited by Bernie and he was very cool, gave us the "Grand Tour" and laid out his vision for the track very nicely. I just want a "lease" on that pit space under the only shade tree at the south end of the track!!! LOL!!!!
09-13-2005, 10:34 PM
I know there were some people invited, but there were others that came on another occasion, that is who I was talking about not the invites. To the invites, hopr you liked it but you havent seen anything yet.
Time for a saftey meeting!!

I heard a rumor at the track Sunday that someone got pissed about all the people going out to the track at Leasure and running their MT's.

Don't you just love rumors?
