And if ur wondering the deal was w/ my parents that as long as i have a job and keep my straight a's, then they would put the down payment, then i pay every month.

Hehe.
The stick-shifts in that Chassis are kinda...well... I dont like the way the clutch feels at all. It seems to engange late off the floor. to this day the best feeling stick-shifts I have ever driven is a Jeep Wrangler and a Toyota pickup. Lol

Jdub, that's what I didn't like about our 05 F-150. First, the clutch had a full throw of about 8 to 10 inches. The first four (coming off the floor) didn't do anything. Watching the rpms, the next 2-4 inches was where the clutch engaged to about 80%, and the rest in what is left.
I disliked the stick shifter in there also, it was about 2 feet long lol. Drove a manual s-10 the other day, first time in about 8 months I've driven stick, and damn that was a peice of cake. Tekno EB48.4 HobbyWing XR8 Sanwa M12

Ecotec is a strong motor.
Except when you get metal in it... we pulled the engine out of a saturn redline, with low power. there was a little metal grommit someone let fall in the intake/air cleaner tube. got into the motor and f'd the head and valves in #1 cylinder up. couldnt order parts, they were back-ordered. so we had to get a Long-Block. thats first time we've pulled one apart in the shop really they're a strong engine. Same with the new series of Inline 4-5-6 motors in gm small trucks. (Canyon, Colorado, Trailblazer, Envoy)

the corvettes have a very very nice clutch. My boss let me drive his 04 z06 and let me tell ya, what an amazing car to drive. Thing stopped on a dime. Had excelleration like a sobering up guy realizing there a 500lb woman in his bed. Clutch was awesome on it. It was very comparable to my ranger's. Very nice smooth engagement, it was about 1/4th of the way up before it was catching and after that it was just smoke behind us. Felt like about half way down before it felt like it was about to fully disengage. They say love at first site doesnt happen but I will have to say otherwise

J-Dub Wrote:Ecotec is a strong motor. I gotta check the manual but when would you think the first oil change would be then?
03-02-2008, 01:22 PM
Is it brand new? Every 3000 Miles bro
Don't follow the oil-life index%. Running that to zero is like 6-7000. I run Valvoline Synthetic and I can push it to about 6k miles and the oil is still amber. but when I first got the car I changed it every 1000 to flush it out. for about 3 changes using just regular oil then made the synthetic switch. Regular oil is fine I just like the piece of mind, of heat protection and longevity. Corvettes are rather sexy cars...pretty much my favorite car ever. Even over exotic cars I'd take a corvette any day. Besides maybe a Lotus Exige. those are nice. They can outhandle a military helicopter
