New in Elgin

Hey all

I started to get into RC racing about 3 years ago... but the club I was going to race with in Iowa closed up shop just as I got my set up. Well, I moved over to Elgin, and looking for somewhere to race/bash. Not sure what's nearby, what's close, and what people are racing.

I picked up a stock electric tc3. I don't even know if I can be competetive with it, but I gotta find somewhere to try it first =)

the hobbytown in stcharles races onroad so that would be a good place to check out locally

How often/when do they race?

I'm on the west side, just up the hill past the boat

Try out StrictlyRC in Norridge, IL. They have classes for rookie, Vintage TA, and Mod. SHort drive for you. That is where I go. Very friendly place. Outdoors asphalt.

Leisure Hours is a long drive, but the outdoor Onroad track is amazing, not to mention the facility in general.

For what your looking for..I would say hobbytown in St.Charles is your best and closest bet. Good bunch of guys and the set up a nice track every other Saturday.

(1/8 and 1/10 scale vehicles welcome)
(You will need offroad tires or switches for the offroad track)

(Failsafes are required for all nitro vehicles)



This is an INDOOR track.
Offroad track is Hard dirt
Onroad track is Hard limestone.
Nitro and Electric Vehicles are welcome at this track.

No outside food or beverage is allowed.

Officially Opening: 10/31/2008
Entry fee $15.00 (for Practice days)
Friday 5:30pm - Midnight
Saturday 10am - Midnight
Sunday 10am - 10pm
Spring of 2009, additional outdoor tracks will be available.

I was informed that, Barnyard RC Raceway in Elgin Il. is closed per the owner.

If it will ever open again? I don't know.

But I will no longer promote, support or attend it if it does.


Pass the word on to others so they don't go out there expecting to run thier
RC's.

P.S.
I will be looking into a more reliable place to run our stuff in the
upcoming months.

Hey guys, Barnyard is still open. We're open this weekend, Friday 5-10pm and Saturday 10am-10pm. We're an indoor off road dirt track. Check out this video that was shot last weekend.
