Quote:Well, where do you start?? As we have all said, so glad know one was hurt or killed. And when you see the pictures, maybe some have already been posted, it is easy to see anyone sitting in the passenger seat would have been hurt. Steve's laptop has a slice out of the top of the screen. Builder Bill may have wrecked a good pair of underwear!! http://www.modernmuscleforum.com/showthr...#post21547

Thanks Eli, I'd wondered about that. When I read that it was a Chevy trans, I figured that it must have been a 700R4 or 4L60 the way it came apart

When I read that it was a Chevy trans, I figured that it must have been a 700R4 or 4L60 the way it came apart 4L60's can hold a decent bit when built, but will never be as strong as a TH400 or 350. Even if someone didn't post the info from that forum, I'd have debunked the stock trans theory. There is no way a stock trans would have even lived long enough to shatter like that behind a 900hp engine. Would have started slipping long before it went kaboom. Seeing as how the 4L60 in stock trim is only rated for about 400hp. I won't say that there is a person stupid enough to run a stock trans behind that much power though, i've seen stupid people and wouldn't put it past some of them to try it.

Think I read somewhere else that it was a 4L85E in that SRT.
