Tristar Racing - The turnout for the mini class has been inconsistent. Why not come out and race. We can put you n with the touring cars or the off road class which will have some 1/16 scale vehicles. Since it's a parking lot it doesn't make any difference. It will give you a taste of racing in a low key environment. Please stop by and say hello. We have a nice group of racers.

I will be there, but unfortunatly I won't be able to race. My daughter starts dance tomorrow and in the afternoon Geneva is having vine fest.
I'll pop on by snap a few pics and help marshell or just help out for a bit.

We had avery good race today. There was a small turnout, but everyone had a great time, there was great weather, and everyone pitched in to help. John was a big help setting up, Steve brought his trailer for the drivers stand, and everyone help to pick up the track. Our two young drivers did a great job! I'll be posting the results and some pictures in the very near future. Special thanks to Gary and Scott who washed the track to get rid of the pop we sprayed to increase traction. Kosenqu, you did a great job. Gene, thanks for stopping by and thanks for the pictures.

My favorite is this one. Out of the 100 or so pics I took, this was the only one where I matched the pan speed.
Doesn't help that the S5is doesn't like anything over 80iso (too grainy for me) so that doesn't leave much margin with the apature and shutter speed. Good think it was sunny out...
I need a dslr

That pic is a really good caputre. When I was shooting, since the sun was so harsh, I was at 3.5f with 1/4000 shutter speed at iso400, to make it look like it was at a standstill. Some shots I had the shutter speed down to 1/60 and I don't recall the f stop but I had a just a few that turned out okay. I really need to get a longer lens.
I shoot with a d40 which isn't too bad and can be had on ebay with a bunch of accessories for around $400.
I've been buying some older SLRs off of ebay with a bunch of lenses for under $30. Processing the film gets a little expensive, but at least it gives you the basics of shooting with a slr camera.

Gene or Kevin, may be you can help a computer illiterate. When I tired to post my pictures the answer I get is that my files exceed the limit. I don't have that trouble on RC Tech. Thanks.

You can open the image in paint to resize it. So, if you go to your pictures, open the correct folder, once you have your image selected you can right click on it, from there go to the "open with" menu and select paint.
From there, you'll see that your image is huge. You can select the tab atop of the paint program that says image, then resize/skew. Enter in the values 50, 50 for the horizontal and vertal percentage in the resize. If it still is too big just repeat the same process.
Other than that you can open a photobucket account which is free ( Image hosting, free photo sharing & video sharing at Photobucket) and upload your pictures there and then drop them into forums using an type tags

Hey, there's your first problem!
Just kidding. I think we both just assumed you were using a PC. Macs are totally different.

Here's the info on our next race.
R/C RACING SAT., OCT. 3 - WINFIELD, IL
There will be a fifth fundraising R/C Race at the Winfield Community United Methodist Church in Winfield, IL. The address is 0S347 Jefferson St. in Winfield, IL. All money raised will go to the church. The race will be held in the church parking lot on Sat., Oct. 3. The race will be open to all drivers. This race will be open to electric cars only. The cost will be $10.00 for each driver for any number of classes. Electricity and washrooms will be available. There’s a McDonalds and Burger King close by. The track will open for practice at 9:30 AM and racing will begin at 11:00. We will be using AMBrc lap counting and transponders will be available to use. Drivers can use personal transponders. The classes we will run will be stock touring, GT3, Tamiya mini, Slash, Off road, 1/16 scale, TT01 Spec, TransAm, NASCAR Outlaw and any others as long as we have at least three cars for a class. The church is trying this as part of their outreach programs. There may be no drivers stand. Although, Steve D. has brought his trailer for the first four races and it makes a great drivers stand. You may want to bring something to stand on if you need it. There will be a door prize drawing for the drivers at no charge. Everyone had a very good time at our first three races.
This great place for new dirvers to get started and for racers looking to have fun!
Directions: Take Rt. 38/ Roosevelt road to County Farm Rd and turn north. There’s a MacDonald’s at that intersection. Go north to Manchester Rd. and turn left or west on Manchester. Take Manchester to Jefferson St. and turn right or north and go about a block and you’ll see the church on the right side.
Take Rt. 64/North Ave. to County Farm Rd. and turn south. There’s a Honda motorcycle dealer at the intersection. Take County Farm Rd. to Manchester Rd. Turn right or west on to Manchester Rd. Take Manchester to Jefferson and turn right on Jefferson. Go about a block and you’ll see the church on the right.
Because of the different address, map quest and other driving direction programs may not work.
