New Guy Grayslake IL

Whats up guys. My name is Kris and I live in Grayslake. I recently made contact with the Park District in Round Lake Beach regarding the RC track at the skate park and advised that the track was suppose to be maintained by the owner of the hobby shop in Grayslake. I talk to Rich at Grayslake Hobbies and stated it was untrue, and he didnt want anything to do with it, he didnt have time. The Park district said if he doesnt want it anymore (he didnt know he had anything to do with in the first place) than I could. So Im working on getting the track all fixed up, gonna work on fixing what people have messed up on the track, and gonna be some organized race nights with prizes and such. Has anyone been to that track yet? When it was first created, it was nice. Then someone took all the black piping out for the curves, started destroying the jumps, and its going to crap fast. Im hoping to get something going within the next couple weeks. Anyone have any input on it?

BTW, This site looks pretty sweet, not sure how many guys are on here, but hoping to get involved in the RC scene some more.

ChiTown has been pretty quiet for the last year or so....many guys have moved on, or are busy with life.

No idea there was a track up there. Can you post the address? I may check it out with one of my cars tomorrow. I haven't fired an RC up in almost a year!
