One of these days I have to take a picture of my neighbors garage, he's a little eccentric, has a whole side painted with an ocean scene.

Well the waters are going down and now everyone is pointing blame and saying that it's because all the people effected are black and poor. Racism will never go away because the media and african "americans" will not let it. The way I see it and the way it is for me at least is nothing happens for me, you have to make it happen. These folks had 60 hours notice that this storm was going to happen and the mayor wasn't happy with getting school buses to move the people, he wanted Greyhound buses. If the buses where too full then pack your crap in your cardboard box and kick it to a different town. Now people are moved to different parts of the country given food, FREE homes, clothing and $2000.00. I have to be real honest, I wish a storm would wash away my condo so I could get relocated to a different state and handed money and a new job. Frankly, I'd like to see what some of these people lived in prior to the storm and then see what they were given after. I work in construction and at least once a week a general contractor wants to know if we are a minority owned business, part of me wants to tell them yes I am, I'm a white man in America and everyone is against me. My parents and I have to kick and fight to get every dime thats owed to us. If I was a minority owned business things would be easier. Now that a hurricane is going into the carolinas, I'd like to see what happens and what is said once this storm is done.

some of that last post seems kinda racist, shouldn't be on public forums IMO. Makes the site look bad, especially because we have some African American members here. How do you think they view that post? I wouldn't come back to this site if I was them because it looks like they are not wanted here, and that's far from the truth. (At least for me)

Don't take this as a stab at you John78, it's definitely not. I've met you and I think your a cool dude. I just think racist opinions should be left off a public forum.

i dont understand how you can say that you wish your whole house got washed away and everything that you knew around you was washed away. then people in your family are missing and maybe even dead. and there are dead bodies everywhere just floating down the road. you wouldnt mind having all of that just so you could get relocated. to another state not have food and clean water. is 2000 dollars and new job probably getting minimum wage and free housing that isnt nice, is it worth it ??? Im not pissed off or anything but in that post it seemed like you think their on vacation to disney land or something. iono if it was that video that made you mad. sry, but i put the link up because i thought it was funny but iono

I'm not a racist person, I can make friends with anyone I don't care of they are of color or if their face is upside down. It's just that when ever I turn on the news or read the newspaper (which isn't very often) that's all that it's about. I just wish that when something bad happens in this country the blame isn't always on race. Wisconsin was hit with 20 something tornados at the same time as the hurricane, did we hear much about that? Is that still in the news? Who's helping those people? Are they complaining and looting their neighbors? They are out there helping one another and trying to get their life back together.
