One thing I'd like to add. How about everyone and anyone who grinds down the nub on a crackshaft to remove starting systems and install bumpstart backplates? You're taking off weight which is not even centered. That could throw off the balance on the crankshaft. I've never seen a complaint about it. I guess the only question that needs to be asked is, how much does that spacer weigh? Enough to cause a problem? Maybe, maybe not. It seems that rd racing has had great success by adding it.
I'm not siding with anyone on this issue, just pointing out another weight modification done to engines for years with nothing but great success. This doesn't look to be any different IMO.

Aw man..Now I got to pull the damn thing apart and see whats going on. You guys are all bumming me out. I was much happier with my TM before i read this post. Hey Satoch, Ill take that nasty spacer off your hands, Lighten up that tool box for you :wavey:
