Troubleshooted the engine problems on the savage yesterday. |

With the weather so nice yesterday, I couldn't resist getting outside and putting some runtime on the savage. Some of you may know, I had major engine issues last time I raced. I was on a mission to find the source of the problem.
Problem 1: Had a hell of a time starting the truck at the track and to keep a long story short, it ended up being the high speed needle tube thing that had come loose on me. Pretty funny to see when I'm trying to start it and the whole thing comes off and shoots fuel at me. No problem. Tighten that thing down, re-tuned the truck runs ok.
Problem 2: The following week, it was running good during practice. The time trials are coming up, and for some reason my truck was flooded pretty bad and I don't know why. I ended up screwing up the pullstarter on the truck. I had to run with the damn cord wrapped around the body posts, because I got lucky enough to get the truck start on the pull that broke the pullstarter. Fixed that and when the mains started, my truck was running slower than dirt. What the hell!
Fast forward to yesterday.
I took the truck out, fired up easy, ran ok, and 2 minutes later, slower than hell again  . I'm getting furious at this point. I take a quick look over the truck and notice that the high speed needle looked a little too far out. Tightened it down all the way...it was 5 turns out!. Set it at 2 to start and the truck was flying. 2 minutes later, same thing. The damn set screw backed it's way out again. Tighten it down one more time, put the truck on blocks and mashed it while looking at the needle. Everytime I hit the gas, the screw would back out AT LEAST 1/2 turn!!. Pulled the needle all the way out and noticed the o-ring on it kinda looked at little flat. After some trial and error, I discovered that a stock hpi shock shaft o-ring, fits pretty damn good. Screwed it in and immediately noticed that there was much more resistance when turning the screw. Set it back at 2 turns out and crossed my fingers.
That truck was flat out plying for the next 20 minutes with no movement on the HSN!!!!
I finally fixed that mofo!!
My advice? Learn from my mistakes!! Check those o-rings and make sure everything is tight!!

Savage Brakes... grrrrrrr!!!!! |

I am having an issue with the brakes on my Savage. I have tried several dual brake kits, I have tried the stock brakes and I have even tried a modified version of the stock brake kit that I came up with... all with no luck.
I thought my problem was that I was working on the brakes and not allowing time for the lock-tight to setup before using the truck again because I would constantly have the screws come loose on me. Well I redid the brakes on my truck about a month ago and it has been sitting ever since. I took the truck out today because it was so nice outside I wanted to get some bashing in before it got cold again. Sure as sh** the brakes only last me about 20 minutes before they were totally gone, I mean no brakes what so ever on my truck. This is becoming a huge pain in the ass with this truck.
Anyone have any suggestions on how to get a good brake setup?
I need something that works and is reliable.

Hey guys im lookin to sell my GS storm S.U.T. and i wanted to post it here first. Im sellin the truck as a roller with a pretty large amount of spare parts..... I have so much that it would take tooo long to list all the stuff i have for this truck. (arms, diff gears, spur, hinge pins, springs + much much more)
Ive upgraded the chassis braces to the pro versions, it has the GS cnc front knuckles, a pro rear shock tower. I also installed the florini rear shock tower brace... Very nice and VERY strong!!!
The truck will come with the stock tires AND a set of practicly brand new proline bowties and Trinity 3 stage foams.(the bowties have seen dirt like 3 times)
I also just custom painted a proline crowd pleazer body for this truck (blue with red racing stripe) It to is like brand new and only has a few small scratches on the roof. It also has the du bro body pin holders.
All the truck needs is a cva for the front left side a motor and electrics and your ready to go!
There isnt anything wrong with this truck, it just does not fit my driving style and im looking to thin my fleet of r/c. Im asking 250 dollars for everything, i dont have pictures right now, but dirtdawgrc is gonna help me out with that and i will hopefully have some by sunday. If your interested P.M. me. Trust me this is a very very good deal im sure that between the truck, upgrades and spare parts its worth more than 1,000 bucks. Thanks for lookin, hope to hear from ya!!!!

[imgright]http://www.chitownrc.com/images/news/rc18mt.jpg[/imgright] The RC18MT is monster truck performance in a mini-sized package! Based on the revolutionary RC18T platform, the RC18MT features a mini-MGT flag body, chrome wheels and monster truck tires with “AE” logos in the tread. The 18MT is powered by an inline-mounted “Super 370” high-performance motor, bolted to an aluminum motor mount with several mounting holes to fit most aftermarket 1:18 scale hop-up motors.
The RC18MT transfers all the power to the ground with its efficient shaft-drive, 4WD powertrain featuring adjustable ball differentials front and rear.
The RC18MT suspension absorbs all of the imperfections of the road with oil-filled shocks for smooth and consistent dampening. The four lower suspension arms are symmetrical and work with the molded upper suspension links to ensure that the 18MT’s suspension geometry is optimized from the start.
Team Associated’s “XP” series electronics installed in the 18MT are completely modular, allowing easy access to the receiver, steering servo, and the new “XPS” electronic speed control with reverse. A 10-hour wall charger is included.
If you’re looking for the mini-monster truck with the big performance that will crush the competition, look no further. Roll over them with Team Associated’s RC18MT.
