The toy car thing is so played, when a guy spends alot of time and lots of money on something i highly doubt its a toy in that persons mind, after all these aint hotwheels or radioshack rc cars, these are legit racing machines built for the soul purpose of, you guessed it, Racing at a level of competition. You pay to compete sometimes you have to pay for travel expenses to compete with these so-called toys too. Im 100% for having fun and do most of the time , but you cant tell me that this racing doesnt get the best of you sometimes and the fun level just drops only to return. Its a nice mind set but its only half true. Everybody preachs "fun" only to walk down the stand in disgust of themselves or someone else, its normal, it happens to everybody that races any form of racing. Everybody on this forum gets along pretty good too, good enough to talk crap to each other all in good fun. It all boils down to the comradery we have at the track and in the pits and at Hooters. I look up to Mike Layday and Bernbot on how they conduct there selves during racing and many others, and I'll be damned if they dont get frustrated at times just like everybody else, its normal. Not flaming you or anybody, but if your going to tell it like is, tell it like is. Toy cars is an understatement, not when they are worth thousands.

First of all crashing into other people is only part of demolition derbies. It is not tolerated in any form of racing-on or offroad, so quit with that BS line. It's obvious the only guys saying that are the ones who can't drive without hitting others. They haven't learned how to control their vehicles yet and expect those of us who have to tolerate their behaviour instead of focusing on improving. Those of us who enjoy racing and see it as a skill find that the constant overly aggressive driving by others detracts from the experience and that's not fair.

They still get up in the same group as toys/hobby. So although we might look at them as more. Talk to someone who is a outsider looking in. And they are just toys to them. Maybe big boy toys. But still. Which is fine,I can go with the big boys toys. But I am not the one that dropped all that money into it. So maybe that is the reason why I am not all up in arms about it all.
I dont really get mad at the other drivers. More so at myself then anything else. Then the marshals. Then come the other driver or drivers. But more so along the lines of 'what the hell was he thinking?!' I dont complain about it here or there at the track,or atleast I try not too. I see no point cause it isnt going to change where I finished. I just have to question why some people even bother to race(more so the new,out of the box, first time racing and little practice people). But for those have have put that much money into their buggy or truck. You have to remember that your the one that is playing with fire when you put that truck on the track. A truck that costs more then a house payment. And your running it with people who have way less in their trucks. Not saying those people race like a noob. But maybe if you had less money put into it,like around what they have. You might think alittle different. I try to stay clean when I race. There have been times both here and at other tracks I pussed out and didnt go for that inside pass in fear of crashing the other truck. I have lost laps and races because of it even. But I also know that this isnt oval racing or road racing, its OFFROAD racing. So the grip in the trucks will not always be there. The way the truck leaves the jump and how it acts when it lands will always be different. So I know, understand, and expect these things. Not saying those of you who are here dont do that. But I feel that some take it to heart alittle more then they should.

What you have to say there is total BS and maybe you need to just sit back and relax for a few bud. Maybe that is what I did which is why I am able to sit here and not get all worked up about it all. I only said that it needs to be expected. If you still disagree. Then maybe your racing in the wrong hobby and should find something else like slot cars. As I said before, if someone takes the inside dive move and makes it. 'Oh wow, what a great pass!!!!' If they screw up and crash either it be their fault or the other guys. It turns to ' What a hack move there, that was just being to aggressive!!'

I figured that much already roc. But what I just said in the post before is how it seems to be. In which case I might as well call myself a hack because I will take that chance to pass.
I try to wait for that window to open up. Either it be their screw up or they let me by because they see I am faster. If a few laps go by and no window. Then I stick my nose in and I see what I can make happen. By no means do I try to wreck myself or them, but that is a risk I take. And if something happens. I do say I am sorry to that driver(if I remember). To me,that is what racing is.

Casketman Wrote:So what are you sayin bruce? I'm a scrub/hack? What you have to say there is total BS and maybe you need to just sit back and relax for a few bud. I'm saying that most of the people at LH are serious racers and approach the sport/hobby with that mindset. This is especially true of those in the upper mains. For those who choose not to be as serious about their racing that's their choice and maybe LH is not the place for them. There are other places or other hobbies. Think of it this way, if I don't place much value on a nice car and choose to drive a rusted and dented 15 year old POS is it OK for me to hit your new SUV with my door? Of course not. Even though I may not share your values I must respect them. That's America.

Thank you mike!
I dont condone someone going full speed into you in the corner. But as a racer know that the guy behind you is GOING to try a move in a corner so you block that corner. Now you want to get all pissed off because he got a wheel on the inside and you get knocked into the tube?! Come on. Yea,I want a clean race like everyone else. We dont need trucks flying all over the track like fish out of water. But this is racing, and alot of it can get tight and rough. I expect that,it seems like some dont and never will.

I'm a serious racer too Bruce. Was that way with my Revo at RVR and I am here with the mugen. But that doesnt mean I sit behind someone and wait for him to be nice and let me by. That doesnt mean that I am out there to just drive around on the track rolling over the jumps. I am there to race. And so I am there to run and finish well. That is my goal, simple as that. And I wouldnt expect nothing less from anyone else around me while on that track.

Maybe I should video tape some of the people that drive ruff and show it on a tv at the track. It would either piss them off or embarass them, but maybe they would stop.

I'm all for it. You won't see me hacking. Screwing myself over...well...
