I never purchased yet from them, but have been browsing for close to 10 years, ever since I was 6 or 7

I have a 15 gallon freshwater tank with a pleco and 2 grammi's (sp). I have been waiting for these to kick the bucket so I could get some fire bellied dwarf grammi's which are much nicer looking, but these guys just want to stick around.

I know how that feels. I had 2 oscars for 7 years, I've been waiting for them to day for the past 2 years. THey finally died this year, and I started my tank up again

Tell you what guys
This is an expensive hobby I know.

I spent about 17K on my set up and I built my own stand and canopy.
I had a 180 Reef with a 200 gallon sump completley automated and computerized. I was able to log in from anywhere I was at and monitor and make changes. I had a dedicated laptop for a server for this set up.
I had over 1100 watts of lighting. I had CO2 and reactors and also a 45g Prop tank as well as auto top off and another 75g tank that held RODI water and another tank to mix salt up in. Couple of reactors involved in all this.
This also had a wave box in it which was the coolest thing.
The best part is in the summer out my front window----It lit up the front yard ina blue haze so it was easy giving directions to my house.

"Yeah just go to the end of the block and look for the house that has a lot of light comming from it"

Anybody need some help or have some questions PM me or what have you.
I also do cutom installs of set up and I mean custom all around.

I never did finish with the photos and the rest of the site but the start of it is on my website.
It is of my 120 I had and some custom work I have done but the macro shots are of corals I had.

Nope...Hence "HAD" in the wording.
I had to give it up---Getting divorced. loosing my home and yadda yadda yadda.

My electric bill to run the tank alone after figuring it out was about $160 a month and I went through a bucket of salt a month at $50 a crack and the other stuff adds up too. SO you have to be able to support it financially.
I was able to with selling Lego sets and parts...that it what paid for 90% of the equipment.

I hear ya Kevin.
The down side to this is you can't even get 50 cents on a dollar with reselling this.
With what I mentioned above I think I walked away with about $6500 in the end and tears to go with it as it went out the door.
I put my heart and soul into it and ppl just came over to watch and sit.

Aww, that is a sad ending. Do you have any tank right now? It's just like RC i assume, won't make nearly your money back

Nope nothing and I am jonesin for it too.
I would rather have a tank than RC.
Does a lot for my High blood pressure

No on average you get about 25 to the high side 40 cents on the dollar and to get the most you sit on it and wait it out.
It took me 8 months to sell the tank, stand and canopy and I got a bit over a grand for it. IT was hand made by me and I have a rep for some kick but custom built fish furniture.

BTW
I also make stuff out of acrylic like sumps and I design them too.

Like that 150 stand and canopy on my site---that was $950 but I build them overkill.
The black one I built could hold a car on it.

FWIW
Regular water is about 7lbs per gallon
Salt water is 10-11 lbs per gallon.
So imagin 180 gallons then the tank at 330lbs and then the furiniture another 350lbs
You are already over a ton. I had to re-enforce my floor joists to support the load in two places

Hers a little list
Its a 75gal reef ready oceanic tank and stand
Custom sump(by myself and have enough acrylic for another). Never measured the gals but was made to fit under stand only leaving about 8" for suplys
Kent skimmer, 3 Rio2100, Orbit lighting(i think)w/ 4 96 watt CF and 4 moon light leds
Typhoon III-v2 5 stage RO DI water system with a complete set of new unused membranes
150lbs sand, 200lbs+ live rock.
3 types of snales, red and blue hermits, emerald crabs, 4peppermint shrimp, 1 coral banded shrimp, porcelain crab, and a few gorilla crabs I havent stabed yet, and a mantis shrimp I threw in the sump.
For fish theres a sand sifting goby, watchman goby, cardnal, red lipped blennie, 2 tomato clowns with its anemones.

As for parting out Id like to make sure the tank, rock, ect is going before I let loose on my fish. They kinda have a place in my heart and will be hard to see them go.
