03-06-2006, 03:53 PM
Enough oil on that filter!!
03-06-2006, 03:54 PM
o ya and thats my os carb on there. Everything fits together like the 2.5 motor. Just everything the piston and sleeve inside the motor is like twice the size of the stock 2.5 ones.

i cant wait till i have mine. mich are ya going anywhere special to break in that i would be able to come and break mine in also?

well 57 degree's out so i decided to break in my 3.3. So far im really not liking this motor. Has so much pinch it took me 20 minutes to get its first initial start. Had to keep loosening the actual cooling head in order for my fully charged starter box to crank it over. Temped at 214 average my first run and so far so good. What a pain this motor is gonna be to get broken in. Looking forward to the power tho. I can already hear a lot more rev's in the motor compared to when i broke in my 2.5r not to long ago. It just wants to get up and take off but i have to keep reminding it were still breaking you in.1 out of 8 runs down for heat cycle.
2 out of 8...........3 out of 8........4 out of 8..... 5 out of 8.... 6 out of 8....7 out of 8

half way done

Time for the 5 minute runs now. I cheated to. Right before i was gonna shut it down for the last 2 minute run i went full throttle and let it shift and WOOOOOOOOOOW. Wide ratio in the trans as well. It just never seemed like it wanted to slow down. Kept pulling and pulling
O and my break in count is on post 663. Im just editing it in that post.

thats pretty sweet. so how did you go along with the whole breakin thing? traxxas or heat cycle? and did you put a few drops of after run in the carb and glow plug hole for some pre-lube?

I stopped at 7 out of 8. Started to rain and id rather not risk anything. I can tell you this thing completly flys at top end along with bottom end. It can easily beat any os .18 on top end. I can do rolling wheelies with 15/38/wide gearing. This thing is completly insane. Its just so repsonsive but its got the same power band as the 2.5r engine so you can easily get all the power out of the engine while still keeping 100% control of the truck. This engine is just amazing. Theres gonna be a lot of shocked people when they see what this engine does on sunday. Il be there at 7:30 to get more fuel through it. You really just have to see this engine to believe its still a small block. Gabe better watch out cuz that p5 is gonna get a real workout. No Joke either.

03-09-2006, 06:27 PM
dang wish i could race mine too. i will be there to watch tho. i talked to traxxas and they told me about a week. aww man..
03-09-2006, 07:48 PM
which is better to break it in? the heat cycle or the traxxas cycle that's on the dvd and instructions (for the 2.5)
03-09-2006, 08:12 PM
Dang, wish I could come out to see it, can you get vids or something for us who cant make it out? That thing has got to be fast.
Let me know, Joe

I dont know which is better but im always gonna stick to the heat cycle method after trying it. For a traxxas motor it still works but the heat cycle is just so much easier and shows the same if not better results.
