Another busted gas tank...
#1
So with a fresh new gas tank, I headed over to leisure hours last thursday to meet up with some of you and race my savage.

After I gased up the savage I headed out to the race track and got ready to fire her up. That's when I noticed that the side of the gas tank was all wet. I wiped it down and it got wet again real quick. Gave it another wipe down and began inspecting it. This is when I noticed the lead is coming from the seam . What the hell, this is a new tank! I think this is like the 4th tank I have installed on the truck. All the previous one had gotten big holes in the from getting hit by the shock screws from bad accidents. I sweat, I have no luck with tanks.

Ahhh, feels good to vent once in a while. Time to head off to the hobby shop tommorrow and pick up another tank. Maybe look into an FM system as well Smile.

Don't feel bad John, when I got to the track that night and tried to start my Sportmaxx, the pull start came loose. No biggie, just took the engine out tighten a few screws and back in business. Next time I will make sure that my truck is running and give it the once over before I drag everything to the track.

Yeah... No biggie when u have a personal mechanic working on your truck till one in the morning... BTW it was your flywheel boss.

Hey demo did ya ever think it might have been the cartwheel into the boards at the end of the straight (at full speed) when you were racing that revo that broke your tank????? I bought a tank protector and havent had any probs since, try one . At $14 a tank a protector will pay for itself in to time at all.

Nope, that was a brand new gas tank. I haven't even started running around the track when I noticed it was leaking. I simply ran with a leaking gas tank all night.

I got 5 hours last night Smile. I'm good to go, and so is the savage. Batteries are charging as I post this message. Almost time for a test and tune session with the new shocks and controller Smile.
