I'd go with the flat chassis, my guess is the thickness in material is better and it would more than likely be easier to work on.

Dump the tub, it is heavier and weaker than the flat team chassis, which is lighter and stronger. The flat chassis is the upgrade to the tub and all RC10GTs now are equipped with the flat team chassis. Look in my signature area(right below this) for a great forum for all things RC10GT related. I plan on upgrading as soon as I get the cash.

The lip where the side walls come down to the rear of the chassis is where it is most weak.

Yeah... I had the FT RC10GT chassis... (the nice flat one) I never had a problem. I used to have demolition derbies with an 1/8th scale too. (Well he like to play "try to run over the GT")
