If you have ever paid any attention while driving with your parents you will be fine. Mostly common sense. When driving just make sure you signal every time, check you blind spots and all that crap. Piece of cake...

haven't had the test in years, but the hardest part I remember is backing around a turn, can't hit the curb or u have to start the test all over. atleast that's how it was 15 years ago.

Uphill parking turn the wheels away from the curb... downhill turn them towards the curb. No one does it in real life but I guess during the test that is how you are supposed to do it and roll into the curb a bit. No way I would do it in my car though. Backing and parallel parking are a piece of cake. (though parallel parking isnt on the test anymore since they said you can survive without paralell parking...

STOP at the stop signs. Even a little roll-thru and you're failed.
And if you fail, challenge the examiner to take an RC drivers test!!!

Biggest thing to remember, FASTEN YOUR SEATBELT!!!!! You could Very easily fail the drivers test by skipping this little step. Make sure it is one of the FIRST things you do, Definately BEFORE you shift the car into gear.
If you want to score a couple Brownie points, when you get in the car, do a quick Mirror check, even if you drove to the Test area. By mirror check, I mean look at each mirror, and make sure it is adjusted right.

The guy i had was about 106 years old .... It took him 5 mins just to get in the car, and then i had to put his seatbelt on for him..... I dont think he would of cared if i drove on the wrong side of the road.... All i did was drive around the block, stop at a stop sign, and make sure i used my signals!

I never took it. I passed drivers ed with flying colors in high school. I got a blue slip from them. At the dmv, they took the slip and told me congrats, head over to the picture section .

Since I got an A in the behind classroom part and road of driver ed, I just had had to take my blu slip to the DVM and get my liscence. But I got my blue slip in may and birthday is at the end of July, so by the time I got my liscence I had like 2 weeks of driving on my own, because I had to wait until of first quarter and get a job until I could get a car (which was in October).

When your in class if you have a certain grade on both the class and driving, they figure you don't need to take the test at the dmv. Sucks because They told me I could go and just get my pic taken but since my b-day falls on a "check" day I still had to take the test!

I remember my drivers test. The written test I passed in HS it was easy and got a waiver so I didnt have to take the written only the street test. The evaluator had me drive down a block make a three point turn and parallel park and go back, that was it, passed. What was cool was my dad rented a Ford mustang for me to take the test in, then with license in hand drove home the mustang down I55 at about 80 MPH. When I was 17 I move to California for a year to live with my Dad who moved there for work(Film Industry) and I had to take the Cali drivers test. I failed it twice before passing it on the third try, it was way harder then the Illinois written test, I didnt have to take the street test since I already had a license.
