what 1/8th scale do you own?
#26
hehe.. I know this first hand since my landmax 2 is based on the 7.5 sport. Ohh forgot the sport models also have only 4 gears inside the diffs instead of the standard 6 gears and only 2 brakes instead of the 4 brakes that the standard 7.5 buggies have. imo.. Kyosho just cut way to many corners on the sport series 7.5's that they shouldn't have. I've talked to lots of people that wish they would have gone with a Kanai buggy or at very least a standard 7.5 kit insted of the sport. seriously look into the Hyper 7 series. Al's carries parts for them and there is a dirt cheap parts source on ebay for Hyper 7 parts. they are great all round bashers and handle the track decent enough for it to be a lot of fun at a place like leisure hours.

Ok just wondering I had read some real good reviews about the sport...oh well. I dont mind a kit but i didnt want to have to buy a radio, reciever, servos and motor on top of a 500$ kit. Im just wanted a second vehicle to run at the track as my main focus will be monster truck racing. But it would be nice to have something i can upgrade fully if i want too. I'l keep looking. Tks guys

You could try finding a roller on E-bay. You might be able to find a deal on a older K2 roller or Hyper 7 PCR, PBS or a pro.

looks like the mp7.5 is $350 and the 777 is $400 and thats the base models! that could get very pricy after all the stuff u have to buy to compleate the vehicle. I think im gonna start looking at the ofnas or the sport works....the guy that runs leisure has a mayham?... and it looks like it handle the track really well... little too well... Smile

looks like i can get a hyper7pcr or the mayhem both in the 600$ range rtr. Also i looked at the Xray man that thing does look nice!

mayham (nice radio)

ofna pcr

That mayham is looking really good with that radio...What do u guys think? Could I do better with my 600$ on something else? I guess i will have to be willing to order parts with either of these since i doubt the LHS stocks anything.

If anyone is interested a guy in our club,( for those that have been to LH he races the green SUT w/ smaller tires) he is going to put up his Hyper 7 up on ebay. He can sell it as just the roller or a whole crap load of spare parts with it. Let me know if anyone is interested. He wants 175 for the roller and he will work a deal on the spare parts. Probably 225 for it all. I think he has about 150. 00 in new spare parts.

that Ofna PCR RTR on ebay is a good deal. that RTR acutally has all the good PCR hop up parts on it out of the box.

the Meyham buggy is a really good buy and the radio gear is a huge plus! I think either the meyham or the PCR RTR would be great.

Thanks for the info guys... Smile

I won a auction on ebay for a Mayhem rtr it came out to $393 after shipping..... Smile

mayhem

Hopefully this will be a good start for me into buggys without spending a fortune. The radio should be a step up from my stock traxxas.

I've heard some pretty good things about the Mayhem... Congrats on the deal.

If the JR is "a step up" from a traxxas radio, you better hold the handrails, because that's a BIG step.... The JR radio is a very nice upgrade. Digital trims, LCD readout, Dual rate steering, End Point Adjustments.... to name a few features. On my Savage, I had the JR set to adjust the brake EPA "on the fly", since I don't have reverse. Just one of the options for the 3rd channel....

The radio has multiple model memory too which means you buy a receiver for the Revo and ...BAM....you got a nice radio for the revo too!

Very cool buggy you got there Big Grin

One of the best features, and I forgot to mention it....
No more lugging around multiple radios...
Trims already set to each model...
No need to familiarize with a different "feel" for each radio.

Got a chance to look at the MP 777 S1 tonight at Al's....I was waiting for a friend to get done looking in the heli dept and decided to look at some buggies, The thing was sitting on the counter, I was seconds away from buying the thing. I gotta say that thing is very sweet........So, I'm back to being torn between the XB8 or the 777.

I am now the proud owner of a GS Storm Smile. Picked up a roller chassis from clearmwaterms for $100.

I've got some servo's lying around, so all I need is a receiver so I can use my JR radio with it.

Cool deal sounds like theres gonna be some buggy racing going on here! Oh BTW, got the mayhem yesturday started breking it in and broke it allready  I ran it into the cement foundation of my house and broke the control arm. Probly didnt help that it was like 40F temp outside. Luckily Als had the arm. Cool
