Hi, today I will be reviewing the THS Pipe for the Revo...
Here is the pipe;
Very nice and shiny...
The pipe comes in a nice box.
It includes;
Pipe
Manifold
Unbent Hanger
Setscrew
2 Orange couplers
1 Black coupler
1 Long spring
3 Short springs
1 Exhaust deflector
All nicely packaged in bubble wrap.
Performance;
I don't really like this pipe. After running the stock pipe on my 3.3 for about a week I got this, and noticed no gain at all. I had to severely retune, and even then it didn't seem to pull as hard. Burnt up a couple of plugs also, but that was probably on tuning issues.
Looks;
Looks awesome, nice mirror finish.
Durability;
No dents, dings, or severly bent parts after some good hits. One thing though, the bottom of the pipe got some hits by the rocker screw. And while trying to bend the hanger, it snapped! I had to custom fab one out of spare linkages.
Cost;
For $50 shipped to your door for a stock performance pipe, not the greatest choice.
Final Thoughts;
Stick with your stock pipe for the 2.5/R, and for the 3.3, drill the stinger slightly larger on the stock pipe. The THS pipe offers nothing but looks and hassles.

wow thats completly opposite for me. I used my THS on my 2.5r, os .18tm, os.18tz, 3.3 and never had a single tunning problem because of the pipe. Noticable power gain throughout the power band. Il give ya 35 for it?

After I do my "inspection" of the pipe il let you know. I just burned a gallon of fuel in like 5 days so I still gotta pick up more fuel now before this race so il have to see what money I got left over after entrance fee's, fuel to get to the track, ect.

Like a stock revo manifold will get bent. This thing still goes straight across the chassis. I think I only had 2-3 tanks thru it, and then switched back.

Oh, I bent the pipe hanger a little though, it was soft linkage rod. Still works, I'll include it.

Oh, they bend easily is what I meant. You can bend the stock ones by hand.

Youve never bent a stock one before? One bad landing and they are done...

I kinked a stock one by landing sideways at Berwyn Bash. Somehow the pipe gets shoved sideways and pushes on the header. The header was kinked right in the bend, and the flared end was dented from the pipe smacking it.
I don't like big ramps anymore, but I don't like 'em any less, either.

Yeah, I went to the Trinity pipe, and I haven't had a problem with that manifold, if Traxxas would just put a spring on there manifolds instead of the screws they would probally last longer.

When are you guys going to listen to me? The best pipe for the Revo, especially a TM/TZ and most probably the 3.3, is the RB Concepts TM323 header/pipe from http://www.acehobbies.com it's only $50 and is a single chamber pipe.
I will have it at the track for the big race and will loan it to anyone who wants to find out once and for all.

Thats just your personal opinion. What works for you doesnt always work for everybody else. And if its the best pipe how come everytime we raced our revo's my os tm and ths pipe always kept up with your modded tz and worlds greatest pipe? Only thing you had was a little bit more top end but thats only because your motor had more rpm's. You cant deny that. Not starting a war just pointing out facts.

The RB pipe is in fact one of those pipes that are overlooked. Maybe because people are under the assumption you can only get the piep with the motor ??? Who knows, but if someone is offering to lend one out for a couple of runs, I'd take the offer. I've read good results about the pipe.

Ryan, you kept up on the tight parts of the tracks we raced at. True. But keep in mind, I was running 17/36 gearing! That's a LOT of low end torque for a TZ. Then I beat you on the straights because I had more RPMs thanks to the modded TZ, the header/pipe, and gearing combo. I just wish the straights were as long as the new outdoor LH track will be.
