Tmaxx..... what can you wind that BB motor out to?? My buddy has a built motor in his nova that he can fairly safely get to 10k rpms. That is crazy out of a bb! That is a nasty looking wagon though.
Squirrel..... I will say, depending on traction, high 8's, but more realistically a very low 9.

Yeah. The thing is absolutely disgusting. I have personally been in the car several times when he has wound it out to 10k. Scary fast. It runs about a 9 second 1/4. My first ride in it he hit the gas and spun the tires, he let off, and we were doing 110. He spun the tires to 110! I love it. Nasty Nova.

Indy motors can be considered small blocks and they wind out to and extremely high rpm! The clutch doesn't even engage till about 10K!!!!! Bigger is not always better!
John (six) uploaded a vid a while ago of an indy motor doing a trans test. I'll see if I still have it.

Tommy I think we understand that smallblocks are potent motors. LoL There was a Talon up from Kentucky that was getting off a few races..... High 8 second street car. Nothing like having to run 4 slicks. LoL

The second vid is the one I have.
Freeride, Imports can be made to perform! It's insane the amount of power you can get out of those little motors! I'm waiting to see if you do anything with that golf!

I won't really be doing anything with this golf. LoL The trans and such make me want to keep it a daily driver. I do want to build an R32 someday though. That would be a fun little car.

I'm hate to do it but I'm actually gonna defend ricers here! lol 4 cyl cars with the proper amount of money can be 9 second street legal cars. Are those not small blocks? Ok they just have small motors! But you can kinda get the point. As for that motor you guys do not know your history then, The windsor is an incredible motor!!! I know people that have traded their Chevy big blocks for that ford small block!!! Same thing with a 350, You can get more revs out of them and therefore have a longer torque curve. Same thing with r/c motors, you want more revs so you don't stop pulling down the straight.
Also did you guys factor in the gearing of the trans and diff? That has a lot to do with it. And the reduced weight. There are a 100 things you can do to a car to make it go fast!
Sorry for the poor quality, this is the car I've been helping with lately. 67 Chevy Camaro, 502, 8:71 supercharger, dual holley carbs, 200 shot NOS kit, Mickey Tompson. Anybody wanna bet on what this car will run? Has yet to see the track cause the owner is to scared to break it, and he won't let me drive it.
Your sound really dumb when you say NOS its called nitrous

I just call it spray, bottle, or shot. (It's on the bottle. He sprayed. It's got a 100 shot..... etc.) No association with fast and the furious what so ever. LoL

Yeah.... that movie just brings back bad thoughts once you know what the real racing scene is like. Either way.....the difference off the bottle or on sometimes is scary.

TmaxxCrap Wrote:Your sound really dumb when you say NOS its called nitrous You sound really dumb when you don't know better! It is an actual N.O.S. kit, hence why I said nos. Maybe I should have included the periods(little dots after the letters). Nitrous is what is in the bottle by the way, not who made the kit. Read carefully it does say "kit" as in N.O.S. kit.

LMAO. You guys crack me up. Anyone have experience with the Sneaky Pete nitrous setup?? I know it is a small shot hidden, to be sprayed once, but is refillable. How does it correct the flow of fuel since you aren't technically running a full kit?? Or is it really such a small shot that you can get away with it without causing much damage?
(And we should really turn this into a car talk thread, racing, performance, somthing....)

Sneaky petes should be same as a regular kit. You just hide the selonoids and the lines and the bottle. I know you Dan, so be careful with that, you get caught using it in a street race thats supposed to be all motor we'll be hearing about on the news!

I wanna say if the NOS kit is a small enough shot and small enough extra fuel isnt needed its a "dry shot"

No matter what though you want that extra fuel! Nitrous being an oxygenator will run you motor lean! I honestly don't know if it has a fuel line too, if it doesn't I would reccomend putting the nozzle BEFORE your mass air-flow sensor. tht way your motor will automatically add fuel.
