Alright guys, was out at the track today and things are coming along. It happens to be two guys doing all the work themselves after work everyday and on the weekends. As of right now they could us all the help they can. Anybody willing to help out with materials or even cash flow would help move this along seeing they are doing everything out of pocket right now. As for when racing will start... Not sure yet. They still need to find funds for the drivers stand and figure out the watering situation as of right now, so if anyone has any connections or would be willing to help fund some of the last odds and ends, this would be the time. They have spoken with the guys at Hobby town in CL and are just waiting to see what they will say. But like I said, anybody willing to help out with funds or materials would be greatly appreciated. I will be keeping touch with them seeing I'm right down the street. Maybe we need to get the Chitown crew out to help finish up the little detail work and we can get this going. I was also given a website today, but must have written it down wrong cause I can't find it. It has all the details on location and has a few more recent pictures. I will be getting back in touch with them tomorrow and will get some more details then.

These guys are not out to put anyone out of business or tear up any clubs, they just want to have a fun and friendly place for people to come out and race.

I will keep you guys up to date as I get more info.

I might be willing to pitch in some labor one of these next couple weekends. Anyone know how to contact them or coordinate. I could give up a sunday bash session to contribute my labor for a day.

If we could orgnaize a group of 8-10 people for a day we should be able to get alot done.

Jeff and I stopped by this saturday. Jeff had his electric revo and eletric matrix buggy. I had my Jammin buggy.

The track is close to being finished but much of the rocks still need to be filtered out of the soil, at least the bigger rocks anyways. But its a very cool track, and even though we couldn't use the whole track (they were working on sections of it, so wherever they were, we weren't).

Its BIG is all I can say. I've been to LHR and the length of this track easily surpasses LHR. So those of you with bigger motors will get to stretch your legs a little.

So far it looks like they are going to have one main track, and its over 1/4 mile long, with an extended section for an even longer lap. The back section all the way on the right looks like its straight out of a moto-x style setup. Lots of big jumps following into tight hair pins. The main section is more flat with some nice whoops and very tight switchbacks, which on the loose top soil there now were very difficult to navigate with a 1/8th scale buggy. Once the track is finished and they water it down it ought to be better.

Currently setup is also a dirt oval thats being built, its not finished enough yet to run on, but its there. It was great fun out there, and looks to be a really nice, BIG track. Entering the main straight you are coming off a HUGE banked turn, there will be some massive speed on the straight.

They are also interested in a drag strip (just a thought at this point), and they have the makings of a rock crawling area too.

So its something for just about everyone. Truggies look to be the best handling option out there now.

Here is a panoramic pic I stitched together from 3 photos. I didn't resize it, so it weighs in at 1.4megs with medium jpeg compression.

IMHO track is too big. Will be a engine eater. and maybe get 4 laps in a 5 minute qual.

If you remember right alot of people complained about LH straight being to long, and that it will eat engines, well this is significantly larger...

Sometimes big isn't always better.
