I recently got into 1/8 scale buggies and truggies.
The biggest question for you is are you planning on racing consistantly or not.
If you are not planning on racing or only racing every now and then I would not spend a lot of money on a kit car. Myself I do not race but I like to attend practice days at LH. I have no intention to race every weekend.
I bought a Ofna Ultra comp 2 used from someone on this board as my first car. I occasionall broke parts but it was due to me doing real stupid things like bashing the hell out of it at a skate park.
I then bought a Sportwerks mayhem st truggy from someone on the board that was setup for racing. Its a good car with plenty of power and is good at the track. I am thinking of buying a mayhem or turmoil buggy to match the truggy.
If you are not planning on racing constantly I would buy a sportwerks over the ofna since it can be a more capable racer if you ever plan on doing so.
Spend the amount of money you are most comfortable with and buy something that matches what you want to do with it. You don't need a Jammin, TTR or eight if you do not plan on racing.
By the way buy used from the board its the best way to get nice vehicles at a good price. If you do not like your car you can turn around and sell it for about what you paid

I would look for a used sportwerks, or one of the ofnas. They are pretty easy to find used.

looks like something up your alley. That would be a good first buggy to see if you like the class. Maybe get some different tire to race but other than that, ready to go...tires are 80% of the way a car handles anyway.

"The reserve price is 350.00 thats 150 or so less than new. The car is really nice and I have some extra parts to go with it as well. Chris
Make me an offer if its in your range."
So thats the reserve. Sounds like a fair enough deal.

I will say again.... New you are not going to get a solid buggy for that money. Look into Rocco's buggy (the price came down to $300!! You are practicaly robbing him at that price) or if you need something cheaper, look for a Kanai 3. The K3 is ahead of those Ofna RTR's that are coming out now with 8 year old technology. I would also take the K3 over the Duratrax buggy.

And Rocco, being the stand up guy he is, would probably hold it for you if you said you would buy it that day.

Reasonable offer?? $300+ Not the upgrades that Rocco's has, but it comes with a pipe and starter box. I would still go with Roccos. It will be the same price or cheaper, and you KNOW where it is coming from.
