Took the truck off layaway today and I discovered the LB body won't fit, but I have another chassis that it'll fit with a little dremel work on the wheel openings, look for that thread in the onroad section in the next couple of daysWink BTW, anybody know a good source for 1/12 scale shag carpeting?

Got some updates here;
I've made a lexan trans skid
[Image: WKTransSkid.jpg]

Moved things around so that I can have the battery end of the truck be the front end, nice, cheap, and easy since it was done with all unmodified stock parts too!

After putting a better servo I noticed a noise like the spur gear was stripping but couldn't find the associated damage until I took a better look at the upper steering pushrod and discovered this
[Image: WKSteeringLinkage.jpg]

After I took this pic, I flipped the link and put it back on. A couple days later the screeching returned and I discovered this!
[Image: WKPushrodreplacement1.jpg][Image: WKPushrodreplacement2.jpg]

Well, I got to looking at the parts wall and spotted some of the rod ends in this bag
[Image: WKPushrodreplacement4.jpg]

The gears in the old noggin got to turning and I found some other things to do some fabbing
[Image: WKPushrodreplacement3.jpg]

These rod ends seemed to be the right shape and take 4-40 all-thread nicely too!

After doing a little guesstimating I came up with this
[Image: WKPushrodreplacement7.jpg][Image: WKPushrodreplacement5.jpg][Image: WKPushrodreplacement6.jpg]

And here's the final product next to the replaced parts
[Image: WKPushrodreplacement9.jpg]

Now for the installed pics "thumbsup"
[Image: WKPushrodreplacement11.jpg][Image: WKPushrodreplacement12.jpg][Image: WKPushrodreplacement10.jpg]

Tested it after work and it's a big improvement, now I just need to reinforce the bellcrank/UCA mount on the front axle.........

Thanks Ponch, Kinda scarey how well it turned out for not much work, isn't it? The Savage tie rod ends in that parts bag will also be used to stretch the wheelbase too....eventually.......

Just got around to stretching the truck and painted up an old ProLine Excursion I had laying around for it. It's now almost 12 1/4" in the wheelbase and I though the body turned out well considering I did it last night around 10pm with no electricity!
