Meat you piss and moan alot. Don't post if all you're gonna do is complain about it.
Seal The Engine, and Learn how to tune and it shouldnt be THAT much of an issue...
Like alot of guys said if you don't like the spec class don't race it. Don't just sit here and complain about how much it sucks.

I have a gallon an a half in mine so far. the only thing that I have had is a oil under the chassie after I run. Could not find a leak in the motor. I found that the fuel tank leaks around the cap which let the fuel run out the over flow which come out the bottom of the chassis. This also can cause the motor to run lean. I did seal the motor before I ran it and I did break it in by heat cycling.
Tires will be the V slick by kyosho. Great traction and wear is very very good. I'm using #55 now but have three compounds to choose from. 55 is in the middle.
What you can do. The stock brakes suck so a brake upgrade is allow. Kyosho has a great brake pad which goes right on.
Sway bars are allow. Kyosho has a bolt on kit.
Radio gear may be changed. this goes for the linkage also.
You can change oil in the shocks you can change the oil in the diffs. You can move the shocks to any hole as well as the upper links. NO NEW HOLES ALLOW.
You may change gearing.
NO OTHER CHANGES ALLOW.
Now lets have some fun with this. and lets see who can beat this old man.:racing:

I posted it elsewhere, but you can get them from Ultimate Hobbies ( http://www.ultimatehobbies.com) for $329 shipped. Just do a search for the pn# 3181. Your choice of Subaru, Nissan, BMW, or Aston Martin bodies. Ferrari isn't available yet.

Do the LHS a favor and go buy one from them, whether it be Al's or LH...support local shops or they may not be here for long.
I think they are like $380 out the door at LH, not bad and you have it same day...
How much is shipping at Ultimate hobbies? edit: I see they have free ground shipping...

How much is shipping at Ultimate hobbies? edit: I see they have free ground shipping... Yeah, but add tax into the equation. $380 + tax probably brings it above $400. Can you justify spending $70 extra to support your LHS? I might have if Al's had it in stock and could cut me a deal to around $350. From ultimate hobbies there is no tax. I bought mine online because of that. I wanted the Calsonic Nissan body and Al's didn't have it in stock.
Ponch, I got it in 4 days with the free ground shipping.

3rd Gen, I think me and Free-ride frost were talking to you at the track today (Saturday) and you had your IGT and Hyper one-seven I think.
If it wasnt you it was a strange coincidence that the guy told us about ultimate hobbies. and 329 shipped. and how you hated Kyosho Motors. etc etc

Yeah, that was me, I figured out what was wrong with my 528xr too. The exhaust oring on the engine wasn't sealing properly, it was brand new, but not thick enough to keep the 528xr running consistantly. So it was constantly fluctuating between extreme rich, extreme lean. Got a new gasket on it and 1st gear is useless again. Perhaps I'll try open practice again in a bit once the car is better sorted and I have better tires on it. The rear end was extremly loose.
Yep, http://www.ultimatehobbies.com , search for PN# 3181, that'll bring up all of the IGT's they have.
BTW, never ended up getting around to putting that BCE chassis on the LSP.

I'm trying to shake mine down for a practice day. Front end is sloppy..trying to figure out why. never owned a truggy before.
On Topic: On Road is really cool. Thinking about getting an IGT once I pay my stupid parents back so they will quit their b*@#^ing

Every LSP I have seen (in addition to the two I have owned) have had that bit of slop in the front end. If you decide to run the plactic hub carriers instead of the aluminum it should get rid of a little of it for a while until the wear out and you need to swap them (just happens with plastic vs. aluminum) but you run the risk of breaking them then. Try out different setups. It still handles great....
As for the IGT, it looks awesome. I would love to get some sort of an onroad (IGT or 1/5 scale). I don't want to go 1/10 scale and 1/8 scale is sooooo pricey. The IGT seems like a cheap and fairly bombproof option....

I've been running it around chasing dogs and kids. It handles good on the road, I bet it handles better on the track. It didnt seem there was a problem I've just never owned a truggy before. I don't know how they tick, I know my revo steering is as tight as a you know what.
I plan on running the spec class once I get one of these...which will be awhile.

I finally got a chance to wheel one around. It should be fun and interesting. I can see the same level of comp. as I do for some of the off road races. Just larger because everyone has the same car.
The ASTON MARTIN DBR-9 has my eye. Nice lookin shell right there.
