SPortwerks Chaos for a steal!!

These are smaller... Maybe be able to get/make a hub adapter to run 2wd tires all around, that would look BA.

"to all chaos owners: replace the clutch bell needle bearing with 3 4X7 bearings. sportwerks used a needle bearing to hold up the clutch bell. you know, the bearings that have little steel rollers encased in a plastic housing? yeah. I replaced the clutch bell bearings with 3 of them"

Mike, you're thinking CRT.5. They use 1/10 buggy rear tires.

Also, check the clearance between the front outdrive and the fuel tank. When my son got one when they were first released, the outdrive would rub the fuel tank, wearing ALMOST through. A quick call to Horizon resulted in a free replacement tank AND outdrive shaft. This did seem to fix the problem.

The only other issue, was the fact that there is only one brake, which with a center diff, sometimes made for some tricky driving. Just lock the center diff and this problem will go away also.

Ok. so I was at Leisure today looking at two that had come in for service.

I was looking at the steering; it's pretty much the same setup as the 18t, which is prone to slop. Plus those tie rods were junk; there was so much play it wasn't even funny.

So I think if I were to get one, I would have to make a custom plate to fix the steering slop and tighten up the servo saver. Then, some actual turn buckles would be needed...

K sweet, hey has your son broken anything on his? Like are they pretty durable and all? And how about break in, should i just do the normal heat cycle?

Nick...

You need (4) (quantity) 4mm by 7mm bearings (dimensions)

Breakin-they say a tank... I would just go by traxxas breakin pretty much.

i would really imagine that that whole motor is idiot proof. With a price that cheap im sure the deck height is high so you could run liek 80% nitro, no breakin, temps at 400* and itd still last a long time. The average joe that never had a nitro treatment if you will lol

i bet u could go through it do some port work, measure deck height, maybe find a real carb that fits and itd be a better motor, or spend that 200$ it would cost you on something worth while lol

Czech is right...still 99 on Amain.

That's less than they pay for them when they buy them from Horizon.

AMain lost their relationship with Great Planes/Hobbico and can't distribute their products anymore...it's kinda odd that now they are advertising a Horizon product for less than they pay for it.

Something is really weird about 99 dollar Chaos......Horizon has them listed as $359.00:

Horizon Hobby: 1/16 Chaos Nitro 4WD RTR Buggy by Sportwerks (SWK1400)
