Have you guys changed the layout since the beginning of the year. The six pack that launched you up 10 foot was a blast! Is it still there?

yes its been changed. we had some weed issues in the middle of the season and we had to flatten it and start over. its a pretty nice layout has some banked curves. we have been running crimefighters and bowties for tires if we keep sweeping off the track jconcepts goosebumps work great also

I'll just throw out my opinion regarding this event.....the marshalling sucked, the track could have been prepped more, specifically the jumps. And it could have been ran just a bit better. Yea I know, if i dont flip then I dont have to worry about the marshals. But when they are standing out there playing pocket pool and not paying any attention to their section of the track that they are supposed to be covering, then they suck. Put the electric buggies in their own class. Just my 2 cents

Well ok then...
Did you voice your opinions with any of the people running the event while you were there? Or did you wait till you got on line to flame them?

Thats funny....I didnt have a problem with the marshalling. Its a club track not a business. Don't crash so much and you wont have those issues.

I would have to agree with Golferdude. The jumps were broken apart after the first qualifier and there was no one really calling the races as well. Just for the mains one of the ladies from the RC Shack started calling everything. But hey, that's not her track or her job. Thank you for her help by the way. The track was just not ready to have the "Big Boys" from LH to come out. Also for the first "4" minutes of the B main they only had 2 of the 10 marshals out on the track. Your also right Mbx5tmad, this is a club track defiantly not a "pro" style track like LH, Peoria....
But hey I had fun for racing against Money Mike, Nat, Jimbo, Johnny, Gary, Cody, Jim, Joe and yes even Lance...

The marshals are your fellow racers we said what we had to say before hand. if no one wants to follow through on there job what can we do. we called out as many people that we could to get out and help.
Track prep. lets see were racing on farm dirt doesnt pack and groove like clay it would have been nice to water the track but our water hose got destroyed in our last track build. but everyone wishes we watered that day that does nothing for the track but make the dust worse. the jumps were built by club members not racing professionals.
We had printer problems through out the day and waiting to go into round 2 everyone wanted a resort so we had to wait for a new printer to be purchased and brought out to the track.
JoeyTheRocket Wrote:Hey buddy, don't forget they started the B-Main for the first 4mins with only 2 of the 10 marshals. Not what I call a "pro" level track.
again we did what we could and if it was 4 minutes then yes there would have been a restart but it was like the first 30 seconds and we were yelling for marshals. and we got some out there. again that was the racers. We never we stated we were a PRO level track And if your a PRO level driver you shouldnt need Marshals in the first 30 seconds
golferdude1971 Wrote:Rocket, I dont think that it needs to be a "pro" level track, but I see the marshals not paying attention or even showing up a big issue, and the folks running the event should have addressed it. It didnt just start in the mains, it was also happening during qualifiers. A few simple things that could have been done were to be more vocal by the announcer and also setup marshalling cones in designated areas on the track. Maybe the condition on the track had something to do with it, i dont know, all I know if that I didnt have too many positive thoughts. The Monster Truck Main was started without even checking to see if there were any Marshals on the track, and there were zero. The same happened for the buggy B main. The mains should have not even been started without marshals, especially with Monster Trucks. They need someone like John or that chick from the Peoria track to announce it.
And on top of that, there were some folks that do not know the word "Sportsmanship". Im a slow guy and I stay clear of anyone trying to pass me, but there were alot of hack jobs performed out there. Too many things went wrong, so Im scratching it off my list.
Marshaling cones would be great but they cost money we are a club track not a Pro rated track.
The monster truck main wasn't started without marshals.I know i dropped one of them.
I take partial blame for the bmain buggy guys not having marshals i didnt think of the 2 bump ups so that would have left 5 guys out there.
lets get into sportsmanship. i missed a qualifier because no one wanted to move on the drivers stand. i paid to be there like the rest of you guys. and the hacking i got hacked badly by one of your buddies in the truggy A main more then once. so if you dont like the people you race with move some where else in the country and standing on the drivers stand cussing because your not on a prepped clay track with a temp controlled pit room with other pro level drivers doesnt make you a better sportsman then anyone else.
it would be nice if john and justyne would come out and run the races but it doesnt always happen that way. i was there on no sleep and everyones suggestions throughout the day dont help.
This is a response from a previous Quote about electric buggies racing in there own class. Why? could you please comment back aboutthe reasons why. i dont think they had any affect on anything that day that went wrong. in my opinion people with that attitude are the ones killing the hobby.
And now my opinion everyone was complaining about never coming back. we tried it it seemed it failed we did what we could we went through 2 printers that day people that took home money were happy and the sportsman racers that race with the club enjoyed watching the faster guys race and enjoyed the challange. This was my first your running the club computer i tried my best my announcing isnt the best but i announced as much as i could. i wanted to race also this day was about having more people come out and seing how everything would work well we know for next year we need a scoring booth so we dont have printer issues. we will work on some other things and all positive feedback is welcomed so if you have more positive feedback to make things better go ahead and say it

I personally had great time. It's to bad ego's get in the way when money is involved. You think us club racers dont realize we are pretty much dontating our money to Jimbo when there is a money race? We all raced on the same track. My only complaint was that between the dust and the setting sun in the main you were blinded up on the table top just before the front straight. That couldn't be helped though. The idea was to get a nice crowd and have a fun last race. Shit happens. The race fees are only enough to cover keeping the track raceable. As far as it getting blown out, it is a pretty new build on farm dirt and there was significant settling. There was no time to fix it. This race was good to help see what everyone like and don't like about the layout so we can make it better next season. Now that the dirt has had time to settle it just take some track maintenance to bring back to shape.
I am sure racers realize that tracks for us are few and far between these days. We need to support what we have or it will be gone!
Go to bed Cheese!
