SO do you have the stock clutch set up?

I've got the stock clutch in pieces.
08-23-2005, 11:44 PM
way different then a ST clutch, and I'm still having problems with that, so any help on the K2 would be great.

OK. (this is the order from engine bearing to bell)
small shim washer/collet/flywheel/clutch nut/shoes/springs/large thin washer that covers shoes/bell/ appropriate shims to fit bell. Let me know if this doesnt help

That helps, but not all the way. I need to know how to assemble the shoes and the springs.
08-23-2005, 11:55 PM
put the spring onto the shoe, so the holes line up. then put it onto the pin on the flywheel. It will only go so far until the small end of the spring hits the nut. Now you have to with a flat screwdriver work that small part of the spring into the groove on the nut.
The first one is easy, after that one you have to get another screwdriver to pry and hold up the already installed shoes. Be prepared to stab yourself with your screw driver once or twice we all do it..

Bigjs, This is a old picture I got from when I ran a UE 4-shoe set-up.
Maybe looking at this can give you a rough idea. Pic removed.......It hurt little George's eyes.........sniff sniff =)

any special way the shoes, or springs need to go on? Looks like the shoes will only go on one way.
08-23-2005, 11:59 PM
WOW Forgot to resize that. Sorry about the pic size.

That pic is so big it actually hurts my eyes.
Joe if you need a hand I can hook up with you this week. Its a good idea to get an Ofna shim kit, it is like $5 and has all kinds of misc shims and stuff to assure proper fit

George-
I'm going to run up to HT tomorrow night, to see if Corey can help me with my rc10gt clutch, maybe I can bring the K2 with also and meet you somewhere.
08-24-2005, 12:19 AM

Will do. I just want to put my hyper .21 on for this weekend, because I won't have enough time to break in the p5x. I would just do a switch, but it looks like the flywheel on the S2 is alot bigger then the one for the k2.
08-24-2005, 12:25 AM
yes the kanai flywheel is alot smaller.

Hey guys for future reference, when a huge pic is posted right click on the pic and then click "view image" it will resize it for you (this trick is for viewing the pic, it won't help the person who posted the pic)

George-
we never got the chance to ring u. I was there for over 2 hrs working with Corey trying to figure out what was wrong with the RC10 clutch. We finally got it. I bought the sportwerks buggy clutch tool, which hopefully will make it easier to do the springs.
08-24-2005, 08:55 PM
if you have any probs let me know, IMO the clutch tool is a waste, but that me.
I will pm you my number

I assume the hex screw at the end should be flush with the ball bearing? Is this where you mentioned the shim kit?
